Dr. Jason C. White
Dr. Jason C. White is a scholar, educator, and artist whose work blends rigorous academic research, community engagement, and creative practice. As Associate Professor at Xavier University and Coordinator of its Arts Administration Minor, he prepares students for successful careers in the cultural sector by emphasizing innovation, entrepreneurship, and organizational management. Dr. White’s scholarship has appeared in leading academic journals, and he is the author of Innovation in the Arts: Concepts, Theories and Practices (Routledge). His approach to teaching and research includes “arts-based interventions” that foster honest dialogue about race, history, and social justice – a commitment exemplified by his co-creation and performance in the NAACP award-winning educational play, The Dance: The History of American Minstrelsy. A Wallace Foundation-funded research fellow, co-creator of the Undergraduate Standards for Arts Administration Education, and founding member of the Society for Arts Entrepreneurship Education, Dr. White brings a holistic, practice-informed perspective to the study of American cultural history and the performing arts.
